How to measure

My pieces are born with the wish that they will be with you for many years and will adapt to your beauty changes.
I work with a single size; my patterns are the result of experience and a constant study of the feminine silhouette; the elastic fabric of my pieces adapts easily to different silhouettes and sizes, which I define between size 36 and size 46.
Aiming that the garment fits you perfectly, I retouch your piece in my Atelier, and for this reason, I ask you for your measurements. Here, I show you how to take your measurements, so please ask someone to help you doing it accurately, or if you prefer, go to a tailor.
I invite you to experience this moment and enjoy this first step, which will enable your piece adapt to your figure, embrace you and accompany your movements.

Please use a natural posture, in which you feel comfortable, and stand straight with your feet together.

1. Bust
In order to measure the bust, your arms must be relaxed at both sides of the body. The measure tape must surround the most protruding part of the bust.

2. Waist
Your waist is the narrowest part, normally 1-2 cm above the navel.
Surround your waist with the measure tape; keep the tape a little loose, so you have a breathing space.

3. Hips
Find the widest part of your hips and surround it with the measure tape.

4. Armhole
The measure tape must surround your arm from the shoulder and come underneath the armpit.

5. Back
This measurement is obtained by measuring from shoulder to shoulder along the back.

6. Front length of the dress and front décolletage.
When you take this measurement, please wear some shoes with the heel height you wish to wear with your dress.
Place the measure tape in the hollow of your collarbone, the measure tape is lowered but kept straight, until reaching the point where you wish the front décolletage of your dress will reach. Please write down this measurement (6A) and continue from this point, lowering the measure tape down to the ground or as far down as you wish the hem to be (6B).

7. Back length of the dress and back décolletage:
While you take this measurement, please wear some shoes with the heel height you wish to wear with your dress.
Find the seventh vertebra, which is located on the back of your neck. To find this point, all you need to do is look down to the ground, bending your neck. The only bone, which is protruding out while you are in this position, is the seventh vertebra.
Place the measure tape on this point, and then lower it, keeping it straight until reaching the point where you want the back décolletage of your dress to be. Please write down this measurement (7A) and continue. From this point, lower the measure tape down to the ground or as far down as you want the hem to be (7B).

8. Length from the seventh vertebra:
Place the measure tape on the seventh vertebra and bring it around towards the most protruding point of one of your breasts, surrounding the neck. From this point, keep it straight until reaching the ground or as far down as you want the hem to be.

9. Sleeve length:
In case your dress has sleeves, I will also ask you for this measurement.
Place the measure tape on the seventh vertebra and bring it straight along the arm to the point you wish the sleeves of your dress would end.

10. Lastly, I have to know your height.

Thank you for your measurements.

If you have any questions, I am here in the Atelier to take care of you and accompany you whenever you need me.
